Sr. HVAC Design Engineer

The Role

  • Act as Job Leader for the specific engineering discipline you are responsible for.
  • Work competently on an independent basis.
  • Communicate directly with Clients.
  • Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians (including verification of quality).
  • Take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design.
  • Prepare Technical Specifications.
  • Carry out design reviews prior to the issue of technical documentation.
  • Monitor financial performance of projects.
  • Set up and manage job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary).
  • Keep senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
  • Inform all relevant BH staff of client matters.
  • Continually ensure practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation and the relevant building codes for the relevant state etc. 

 Job Requirements

You!
  • Typically over 5 years’ experience in Mechanical engineering and HVAC experience.
  • Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization, combined with ability to work independently.
  • Has a professional engineering licence.
  • Broad Mechanical Engineering and Environmental design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects.
  • Good experience with BIM tools such as REVIT and Navisworks
  • Good experience using Excel, Word and Powerpoint and Adobe creative suite
  • The applicant will need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working on US or international projects
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • LEED AP accredited preferred.
  • Relevant first and typically further degree qualification. 
  • Ideally, the candidate will also have experience in the use of energy analysis tools such as trane trace, IES, EQuest etc.
