Manufacturing Sales Representatives in training
SUMMARY: Assists National Accounts Managers and customers in the coordination of sales, order processing, customer service and department maintenance functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Ensure proper processing of customer orders.
- Communicates effectively written or orally with corporate level buyers and stores in problem solving and customer service.
- Works with service specialists as directed.
- Prepares correspondence, reports, and other documents needed.
- Maintains department files to include filing correspondence and other records.
- Receives and monitors regular orders and direct ship orders from national accounts customers.
- Works with other departments and manufacturers regarding any special instructions or handling of the orders.
- Work with vendors for pricing and item information.
- Tracks orders through processing and shipping and forwards information to customer.
- Works with customer service to help resolve claims disputes from customers.
- Maintains program basic accounts, as directed by account manager.
- May require travel and overtime.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be highly organized and have excellent communication skills. Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at one time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, or other employees. Excellent composition and editing/proofing skills. Ability to write letters that conform to prescribed style and format.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and mark-ups.
REASONING ABILITY: Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS and ABILITIES: The skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Knowledge of computer programs and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs - Word and Excel required.
- Proficient in word processing.
- Basic knowledge of Intranet and Internet required.
- OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Customer service driven attitude.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Works well with minimal supervision.
- Willing to handle job pressure and varied work loads. Ability to handle multiple work functions simultaneously.
- Understands the importance of customer service.
