Supply Chain Planner

This position is responsible for assisting the Planning Department in all planning functions: forecasting, finished goods scheduling, raw material ordering, and ERP database maintenance.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Updates and maintains schedule, inventory report, raw material history, forecast, and MRP files for month end reports.
  • Maintains ERP system with accurate information for raw material and finished goods.
  • Prepares, maintains, and distributes daily inventory reports and production schedules.
  • Prepares weekly master production schedules.
  • Orders raw materials for all finished goods based on Material Requirements Planning:
    • Flags info to purchasing when raw materials are late, short, or received early.
    • Reviews corrugate and other short lead-time items on a daily basis.
    • Balance of raw material items reviewed and planned on a weekly basis.
  • Maintains competitive raw material and finished good inventory levels.
  • Schedules appropriately by optimizing input from Customer Service, Sales, Product Development, QA, Purchasing, Shipping, Production, Maintenance, and Process Engineering.
  • Coordinates with Quality Assurance to have finished goods and raw materials released and approved in a timely manner.
  • Communicates known material variances with cost accounting department and flags items to cycle count.
  • Interfaces with all internal departments to ensure finished goods are produced and shipped on time.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Production Management, Logistics, or equivalent required.
  • Two years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Standard knowledge of MRP systems, computerized spreadsheet applications, computerized inventory control systems, and standard business practices.
  • Standard knowledge of accounting software, automated spreadsheets, and mainframe systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of material management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of purchasing and negotiating skills.
