Job Description

Keys directly from Manager:

Perform Fieldwork/QC Inspections  for structural concrete, pile driving, MSE wall, barrier wall, drainage and roadway construction

Check Material deliveries and upload data sheet onto database (PDP/VAIR)

Perform independent pre-pour checks for all structural concrete pours. (MCP proficient)

Assist the Discipline Project Engineer/Field Engineer

VAIR Administration: TSR’s, Hold Points, Checklists.

Assist QC in NCR/NCWR resolution.

Job Description The position reports to the Site Quality Manager or supervisor and provides inspection services to support the site quality program on projects. The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of providing our clients and Fluor with projects that comply with the quality requirements stipulated in our prime contracts. 
• Review and become familiar with the project technical requirements such as the prime contract, applicable codes, standards, and specifications
• Perform, as directed by supervision, various inspections, examinations, and tests to determine compliance with applicable specifications, drawings, procedures, codes, and standards
• Monitor/inspect project and construction execution by regular surveillance and/or inspection as directed by the Site Quality Manager or supervisor to ensure that they comply with project requirements. Issue surveillance or inspection reports to appropriate parties and follow up until closure as required
• Participate, when requested by the Site Quality Manager or supervisor, with the identification of nonconforming conditions and document them on nonconformance reports
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
• Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements • A combination of education and directly related experience; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Other Job Requirements • Perform physical inspection of a variety of discipline activities which may include but not limited to: welding, piping, civil, concrete, buildings, fixed and rotating equipment, electrical, control systems, coatings, insulation, and non-destructive testing Preferred Qualifications • Three (3) years of experience working as a quality inspector
• Certification by a recognized authority (i.e. ASNT, AWS, API, NACE) is preferred; note that, as a minimum, personnel who will be performing welding examinations, inspections and/or reviewing of radiographs must be capable of taking and passing Fluors internal certifications for visual examiners/inspectors and radiographic interpreters
• Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with others
