Job Details:
Rail Transit/Track Engineer for our Transportation & Infrastructure division. This person will primarily perform production of construction documents plans, specifications, estimates and various studies and reports for rail transportation projects including but not limited to design projects for public agencies in the University of Maryland area.
The Rail/Track Engineer will collaborate with and work with a team of architects & engineers designing and producing a variety of rail and transit design projects, including preparing proposal support, renderings, drawings, details, and assisting in developing plans, specifications, reports, site reconnaissance and contributing to project management, scheduling and planning. Draft RFIs and Field Change Directives as questions/discrepancies arise.
Experience in the design of track alignments and details, yards and other rail infrastructure and site work is required. This position will also involve coordinating and overseeing the work of lower-level design staff on the project team.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum of 5- + years of transit design experience Or Field inspector track experience.
- Experience with Amtrak and AREMA standards
- Rail Construction Experience
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, a plus
- Proficiency with MicroStation and Microsoft Office is a plus
- Good knowledge of railway regulations and standards
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work on a team and communicate with clients
