Regulatory Compliance Manager

The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for procedures and systems to ensure manufacturing process and product compliance to Federal, State and International environmental and consumer safety regulations. Included but not limited to DEP, EPA, FDA, CONEG, EU REACH and Proposition 65. This position is also responsible for maintaining knowledge of current environmental and consumer safety laws and regulations.
Duties
- Ensure facilities are operating in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and requirements as codified in state and federal OSHA regulations or otherwise referenced (typically through a site audit, gap analysis, and closure process)
- Act as a regulatory compliance resource.
- Represent the company with state and federal agencies as required.
- Assist with case management.
- Establish and drive continuous improvement in the facilities environmental monitoring and recordkeeping data management systems to ensure compliance with all policies and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the proper onsite management and offsite disposal of solid, universal, and hazardous wastes and lead a plant-wide effort to eliminate these by correcting the root causes and/or reducing wastes, reusing, and recycling various materials.
- Represent the company with local, state, and federal agencies as required and interface with the general public on environmental issues and promote the companies environmental initiatives public hearings, meetings.
- Develop action plans for EHS activities, perform follow-up on these activities, and report status to division EHS leaders.
- Qualify all personnel involved in water sampling and testing, maintaining environmental abatement equipment, emergency procedures, and handling of hazardous materials and wastes.
- Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8 or more years of experience working in environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Experienced in preparing and implementing EH&S programs and managing for desired outcomes.
- Experience leading and managing small teams to include coaching and mentoring.
- Managed both environmental and safety programs.
- Experience in hazard awareness and risk assessment.
- Experience with behavioral based safety systems.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with the QMS
- Facilitate corrective and preventive action by utilizing Quality tools:
- Root Cause Analysis
- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- 5 Why Analysis
- Fishbone Analysis
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management System experience required
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System experience required
