Legacy Systems Transformation Leader
Location: Bridgewater, NJ (Hybrid)
Our client is seeking an Enterprise Modernization Architect to lead large-scale application transformation initiatives focused on modernizing legacy platforms and migrating critical business systems to modern cloud-based architectures. This role will provide technical leadership, modernization strategy, and architectural guidance across complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Assess legacy application portfolios and develop modernization roadmaps
- Define target-state architectures and cloud transformation strategies
- Lead application migration, re-platforming, refactoring, and modernization initiatives
- Design scalable cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS, Azure, and GCP technologies
- Develop technical blueprints and modernization frameworks
- Lead cross-functional teams through modernization, testing, deployment, and adoption efforts
- Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies throughout transformation programs
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align modernization efforts with organizational objectives
- Establish governance, operating models, and best practices for modernized environments
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple teams and programs
Requirements
- Strong experience leading enterprise application modernization initiatives
- Expertise with legacy platform transformation, cloud migration, and modernization strategies
- Experience designing cloud-native architectures across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Knowledge of application re-platforming, refactoring, and modernization methodologies
- Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integration patterns, and scalable application design
- Experience leading large transformation programs involving multiple stakeholders and delivery teams
- Excellent communication, consulting, and executive presentation skills
Preferred
- Experience modernizing mainframe or iSeries environments
- Knowledge of modernization platforms and migration toolsets
- Experience with cloud operating models, governance, and organizational change initiatives
- Experience within consulting or enterprise transformation environments
