Our Princeton, New Jersey office is looking for an Architect or Architectural Engineer candidate with competency and/or strong interest in building science and building enclosure construction to serve as a team member and assist with all aspects of project work under the direction of various project managers. 

We are a global firm of engineers, architects, and materials scientists committed to helping solve, repair, and avoid problems in the built world. 

Requirements:

  • Master's in Architecture or Architectural Engineering; emphasis in building science and high-performance building enclosures; or a Bachelor's or Master's in an ABET accredited program, with a strong interest in building science and/or building enclosure construction
  • Basic understanding of heat, air, and moisture transfer in building assemblies
  • Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Coursework related to air barriers, vapor permeance of building materials, and mechanical systems, or relevant experience
  • An interest in building enclosure forensic investigations, field testing, and historic preservation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • Ability and interest in performing work in the field
  • Ability to travel outside local area, depending on local workload and project locations
  • Desire to work towards professional licensure as an Architect or Professional Engineer

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Plans and mobilizes for site investigations and field testing
  • Conducts on-site investigations to document existing conditions and performs field testing, photographing, and the creation of hand-sketches
  • Organizes field data to facilitate analysis and problem solving
  • Researches historical background of structure, technical issues, and code issues
  • Conducts WUFI hygrothermal modeling and THERM finite element analysis
  • Analyzes research and investigation data and develops alternate schemes for solving problems
  • Prepares investigation reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications
  • Reviews contractor submittals
  • Conducts on-site observations of work in progress, prepares site visit reports, and develops responses to requests for information
