An excellent medical communications client of ours is actively seeking to hire an Account Director. Diversity of experience is great; i.e. medical affairs, promo meded, commercial, but experience within publications & publication planning is required. Work will encompass a mix of medical affairs & publications. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong leadership abilities to guide and direct junior staff, be hands on client facing and provide both tactical & strategic direction to achieve objectives.

Applicants will have a minimum of seven (7) or more years of industry specific experience in a client servicing/client management role within a Medical Communications Company. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience as well as this role being bonus eligible. Individuals with relevant experience in client services but a different job title are urged to apply and discuss further (Account Manager, Sr Account Manager, Account Director, Sr Account Director, Client Service Manager, etc.).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, oversee and manage the day-to-day activities within assigned accounts, working with and reporting to account services department senior leadership
- Drive the development and organic growth of assigned accounts
- Meet with assigned clients and provide strategic recommendations
- Create and foster a working relationship with assigned clients to develop an understanding of the client’s market, product profile, therapeutic area, competitors and trends
- Management & mentoring of direct reports
Qualifying for this position requires the following:
- Seven (7)+ years of account services/account management experience within a medical communications company setting
- Publications/Publication Planning experience
- CMPP a plus
- BA/BS College degree desired
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Ensure that client service delivery meets customer needs while strengthening client relationship in order to expand business opportunities
- Excellent time management and fiscally responsible budget maintenance
- Excellent relationship building, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Project)
