We currently have an opening for a Quality  Manager at our Vineland, NJ manufacturing facility. This position will manage the activities and personnel in the manufacturing area which relate or contribute to a consistently high – quality product.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Follows Company and Site policies and procedures and updates site specific procedures directly related to Quality Control.

  • Follows all applicable safe practices. Supports the plant manager in the operation of this manufacturing facility in a manner that promotes employee safety, housekeeping, and compliance with HSE standards. Assumes responsibility so that all direct reports will work safely, minimizing accidents and injuries, and avoid misoperations. 
  • Establish and supervise standards for the Quality Control staff which will ensure that products released for shipment to a customer are within specification and in statistical control (where applicable).
  • Work with the Production staff - in a constructive manner - to resolve and correct production techniques or practices which result in quality problems and/or decreased productivity.
  • Interact with the research & development staff, on behalf of the manufacturing group, to ensure that (i) new formulations are within the capabilities of the production staff, and (ii) formulation concerns are quickly resolved by the R & D staff.
  • Review batch formulations for accuracy. Initiate and lead productivity efforts that reduce batch adjustment times.
  • Site contact for ISO9001:2015 and QMS programs and lead both internal and external audits.
  • Oversee SPC and SQC program for the site.
  • Participate in the plant’s efforts to decrease the level of mixed resins in inventory in the following ways:
  • Develop programs to ensure that manufacturing techniques do not allow errors which result in down-grading of good product to odd lot; and
  • Participate in the current program to aggressively work off mixed resin in the selected blend resin.
  • Ensure that all lab equipment is properly maintained. Work directly with all departments to guarantee that a calibration schedule is maintained for all testing equipment.
  • Keep the Plant Manager informed of any obstacles which prevent achievement of the above goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with a multitude of software programs, including but not limited to:

            Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office (Project, Powerpoint, Excel, Access, and Word)

  • Site-specific lab equipment (Viscometers, Thermographs, LabX, ANV, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field or equivalent.

  • 3-5 years previous experience in quality control and manufacturing plant environment or related.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience leading ISO or QMS programs.

  • Must be able to identify and distinguish colors.
